Employment

University of Cumbria , New Media Officer 2000 – present

I am currently responsible for the development of the University of Cumbria web site, training staff in the use of web technologies as well as new media development across a distributed five campus University.

University of Kent , Web Support Officer 1999-2000

Supporting the web team at the University of Kent in the development of the website, I was also responsible for staff training in Microsoft Frontpage to allow staff to maintain their own web sites.

Dillons Academic bookstore, Gower St. WC1 1996-1998

I was responsible for managing and maintaining the Cyberstation, a public internet station within the flagship London store; through this post I was also involved in delivering training courses to the public in how to use the web, HTML classes as well as the development of the Dillons bookstore Website.

Eskdale YHA 1996 – April to October (seasonal post)

Assistant warden responsible for a busy Lake District youth hostel, cooking cleaning as well as booking in visitors with responsibility for the welfare of guests.

University of Kent , Computer operator 1995-1996 (temporary 1yr post)

As part of the Universities IT department I was responsible for running overnight backups, file retrieval as well as supporting students in the use of scanning and other digital facilities.
